Holistic deep tissue & therapeutic massage

Massage is the oldest known healing art, predating all orthodox medicine and other complementary therapies. In ancient times, massage treatment was used as a remedy for the treatment of chronic health and disease. Massage is believed to be as old as humankind!

The evidence for this is very simple; humans instinctively respond to pain by touching, holding or rubbing the area to obtain pain relief. Ask your self what do you do if you bump, cut or bang yourself?

If you have a headache, stomach pain or have muscular strain, what do you instinctively do? You rub gently or furiously to reduce the pain. Massage releases the body's natural pain endorphins, there for helping to reduce pain.

If you feel upset or distressed touch can be a great comfort. To be held positively when you need comfort is calming, nurturing and makes you feel better!

This was one of the first things early man will have learnt to help relieve pain and gain comfort and security.

Man developed and started to use leaves, plant oils, resins and tinctures as a massage healing tool. Massage helped us gain knowledge of medicinal plants and their uses. So developed the knowledge and interest of plants and their health benefits.

Massage has been around for centuries and should not be underestimated! Massage and positive touch were used in ancient times to treat women during child birth and have been used to communicate in spiritual rituals between tribes.

Massage is unique in being a healing technique and a powerful treatment to help clear the mind and improve our day to day function in today's stressful society. Without positive touch in our life we can become withdrawn, bad tempered and stressed. Massage can help treat physical medical conditions and muscular problems while also improving mental focus and calming the mind. Head massage and Indian head massage are treatments for the mind itself!

So positive touch and holistic massage is an amazing treatment for the body and mind!

Massage will reduce fatigue and water retention, improve your circulation, improve lymphatic flow - and your immune system is stimulated helping you fight infection!

Importantly, holistic massage increases circulation, oxygen and nutrients to the cells of the mother and child. The massage will give a boost of much needed energy to the mother and as a result your baby will receive increased nourishment. Massage will give mothers comfort and reassurance.
